Sumo Wrestling Suit Rental
Rent Sumo Suits for your next party, church or school activity, or corporate team building event. It is sure to be a hit! Hilarious and fun for those who participate in the event and also for those who just want to be spectators.
Anyone who is 5 feet or taller and is in good physical health can participate in this event. This rental includes two fully-padded, heavy duty sumo suits, a pair of sumo hair-styled helmets, mittens for both wrestlers, and a 14 foot x 14 foot wrestling mat. You can hold this event anywhere you have enough space for the wrestling mat. If space is less than 20 feet x 20 feet or if mats can not be placed on grass or on carpet then spotters must be placed on each side of mat to prevent wrestlers from becoming injured from falls. We recommend one spotter for each wrestler regardless of having enough space or being on grass or carpet.
Rates: This event is 100 dollars for 2 hours or 150 dollars for the entire day. Rental is from 9am to 9am the next day. With Saturday rentals you have until 9am on the following Monday morning to bring it back.
We do offer delivery, setup, and pickup. Our rates are $2.00 for each mile your event is away from our location in Lehi (680 East State Street Lehi, UT). Mileage is calculated for just one way but fee includes round trip. Delivery may not be available on certain dates, please call for availability. If you want it setup then there is a $25 setup fee. Please note: If we deliver and pick up then the rental is not for all day. It is a 4 hour rental max with our delivery and pick up. Delivery and Setup may not always be available. Please call to confirm availability.

Pick-up Yourself: You are welcome to pick-up and return yourself at no charge. You will need a truck, SUV, van, or trailer in order to fit all the equipment. For rental by the hour, we give ample lee way for your time of travel each way. For all day rental, if available you can make arrangements to pick-up the night before or you can pick-up anytime the day of. You can return anytime before noon the next day.
Set Up: Set up for this event is very simple. There are three sections to the mat. The mats have the ring marked on them with vinyl tape. Simply lay the mats out and Velcro them together to form a circle.
Damaged Equipment: The renter in charge will be responsible for any serious damage, stolen, or loss to any item while it is their care. When you pick-up the equipment yourself the suits, helmets, and mitts will be inspected for damage at the time you pick-up using the Condition Inspection Checklist. You will inspect the mats yourself when you have them set-up. Notify us immediately if you see any serious damage so you will not be responsible. When we deliver the equipment we will inspect everything with you using the Condition Inspection Checklist. Please do not try to repair any damage or stains. We will look after the equipment when they are returned. To avoid damage, do not leave equipment in the sun or in a hot vehicle. Especially the helmets, the wig material will melt and will need to be replaced at your expense.
Refund for Cancellations -If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, you will need to contact us at least 7 days prior to your reservation date. If not, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. If you do not reach us and you do not receive a confirmation number you will still be charged 50% of the rental for a cancellation fee. If you reserved inside the 7 days you will not be charged 50% of the rental unless you do not contact us to cancel. The $10 Deposit is non-refundable. Deposit and/or 50% charge may be transferred to another date or used as a credit towards another rental.
Refund for Inclement Weather – If your event cannot be held indoors and weather is not permitting on the day of your rental, you are eligible to receive a refund. The $10.00 deposit is a nonrefundable. Deposit and 50% charge may be transferred to another date or used as a credit towards another rental. No refund if you have already pickup the sumo suits.
Preparing for the Match: We recommend that you have the wrestlers dress in a separate room from your audience. This creates more excitement when they come out, and gives you a chance to explain the rules. To dress the wrestlers, you will need at least one person to help each wrestler get into the suit. Once the wrestlers are dressed, we recommend letting them do a few chest bumps while they are in the dressing room, just so they get used to the feel of it. This makes for a better match. Have each wrestler decide on a name for themselves. Explain the match to them.
Here is what they do:
- Gyoji (referee) introduced them by holding the fan over each head (not provided) and saying the name of the wrestler.
- Wrestlers move to opposite sides of the ring and show their strength to each other by grunting, growling, clapping, and stomping.
- Gyoji starts the match by dropping the fan and yelling SUMO!
- A winner is declared when one wrestler knocks his opponent out of the ring or off their feet.
- If time allows you may want to run a best of 3 matches.
Determining the Winner
- To win a Sumo Wrestling match you must force your opponent out of the ring or off their feet.
- If any part of the body other than the feet touches the mat, a winner is declared.
- If either opponent steps out of the ring at any time, a winner is declared.

- Laughing at your opponent
- Stepping out of the way of a charging wrestler
- Jumping onto your opponent if he/she is off their feet
This event does require a credit card as a security deposit for seriously damaged, lost, or stolen equipment and also requires someone 18 years or older willing to sign a waiver form that holds that person liable for someone injured while participating in the event.
